Cell Phone Effects Essay

Date: 2/10/15

Sitting in front of her plasma, Ashley suddenly receives a surprise text from her bff Nicole. Forgetting about her now not-so-interesting-show Ashley wanders off into never ending text zone. Much like Ashley many teenagers, adults, and even young children use technology in their everyday life. Cell phones have affected people’s life by being able to communicate faster and also causing lack of concentration.

Mostly everyone in the twenty-first century has communication through a cell phone every day. Whether it’s texting or calling, long distance or short distance people are always on their phones communicating. For example, living in the United States and having family on the other side of the world, such as Paris, France can cause a major problem in family communication. However, having a cell phone can make this task 10 thousand time better by receiving and sending news and ideas faster than flash himself. In addition, letting others know about an idea or situation, or an emergency gets done faster by cell phones and their friendship with everyone. Walking by a familiar place can remind a grandchild of his grandmother, and now she’s just a phone call away. Cell phones can allow all ages to communicate faster than ever before.

Cell phones can be really useful but can also cause lack of concentration to others around. For example, I was sitting in the living room on my cell phone texting away, and my mother started to talk to me, I was answering like a typical teenager would do. Yes mom, OK mom, sure mom, which lead to me not doing the thing she had told me to do, leading to being grounded and my phone being taken up. Having a cell phone can be a great thing by can lead to great consequences. Not only do you lose concentration and suffer punishments, it creates little want to pay attention. Sitting in a classroom, all Amber can think about is the text Amy told her she send, leading to her nor paying attention to the very important topic the teacher was teaching lead to Amber’s opportunity of her high school diploma.

Therefor, phones can be a gift of heaven by being able to communicate fast, but could also be the cause of failure in life because of lack of concentration.

A Shadow

You might think

I’m just a rude-irresponsible-careless fifteen year old girl

with long dark brown hair and dark mysterious eyes,

But I know I am more way more than that.

Not superman or wonder woman nor a secret spy

A shadow. A just light shadow.

Colorless defines me, I stand beside another shadow, although,

Colorful defines this shadow.

You only see me when Light is near by

You only see me when The Colorful Shadow is by shining Light

Its mood changes constantly

The Colorful Shadow has fun in the Sun, it would sometimes play with me

Chasing me around, and I Running from it.

Together we are one, we are connected like a tree to a branch.

I follow along to wherever it goes.

Other times it questions why I’m there, but The Colorful Shadow knows

No matter what my purpose is, or what it thinks, I’ll always be there.

Day or Night we will always be connected.

The rube-irresponsible-careless fifteen year old girl has two Shadows

A Colorless, And Colorful, Questioned, and playful Shadow all in one Light.

The Importance to be Able to Understand Others point of View

Importance to be able to understand others point of view

“Amy you know I do this for your own good,” Amy’s mother expresses with a calming voice. “Just let me be myself, Rose. Don’t stick your head in others’ business,” Amy screams with anger across the living room looking away from her mother. In our world today, there are many who struggle with understanding others. It’s important to be able to see a situation from another person’s point of view because it allows to be more understanding and have less regretful moments.

Everyone wishes for others to understand their struggles, whether is a teenager, an exhausted teacher, or a frustrated mother of four. For example, stomping down the path, Jamie curses at the air all frustrated and angry because his mom questions why he desires to go to a party. “It’s just a party can’t she understand! Ugh!” Jamie shouts at the uninvolved-innocent-air. Parents need to take a step back and remember the good old days of when they were teenagers and put themselves in their kids position and understand they need to unwrap themselves and explore life on their own. In addition, parents need to be understood, too. “Jo, you get your butt over here and stop annoying your sister!” after five long hours at work, Oliva gets ready for her necessary job at home with her two children. Just like teenagers, adults need a person to understand their I’ll-kill-myself-days. Everyone rides the same boat when it comes to trying to understand others. No one is born with excellent understanding.

People all around the world have experienced a time when they had a misunderstanding and they wish to take it back. For example, skipping down the school hall way, Laine suddenly hears hushed voices coming from room the restroom. Wondering what’s going on, she peeks in and sees Lily and Bailey, her two close friends. Trying to listen closer she heard her name being called, quickly she runs out of the restroom and cries think her closest friends where talking behind her back. A lot of people automatically assume something bad want down behind their back instead of putting themselves in the person’s position and imagining what amazing surprises they might have. Also, having already cried her eyes out Laine gets up and opens the door of the library, where she was letting her life fall apart, she slams into someone and stumbles to the ground. Lily and Bailey, the ones Laine slammed into, quickly start to apologize and try to help her. Laine, remembering what happened, quickly gets away from them. Confused, Lily and Bailey ask her what happened and Laine’s water works go back to action. Anyone can easily mistake a surprise birthday party for a backstab, it’s important to think of options before coming up with our own. Adults and teenagers both need to take a step back and try to understand the reasons behind others actions.

Therefore, Amy along with everyone else need to consider looking backwards and try to remember what parents, friends, or a coworker has gone through to make their actions because it’s important to know the situation through other eyes.
